Future Cities Catapult - Every journey to smart begins with a building
I will talk about the state of play in smart cities with a view on buildings and the role of buildings in enabling smart city.
In a nutshell a city is a collection of communities and districts, a district is a collection buildings. I take that analogy and start from Building and create a modular approach to facilitate and accelerate smart cities enablement.

Charbel has 24 years of global experience with top 4 consulting, telecommunications & technology, and energy and automation solutions including Accenture, Cisco Systems & Schneider Electric among others. He has operated in global roles since 2001 including extensive experience in Europe, Middle East, Emerging Market and North America. His experience covers sustainable economic development strategies, technology innovation, design and implementation of digital services, smart cities, and smart infrastructure.
A strong believer in the possibilities for positive change as technology is applied in the modern world, Charbel is currently a board member of Future Cities Catapult, as well as serving on the boards and advisory councils for several startup businesses as well as market leading organizations.
Charbel has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in computer science, and an MBA in global operation and management.
