Intelligent Buildings - 2 case studies and the new BICSI standard


Adam Blinch will present case studies of two diverse building projects that can be considered "smart". One is a provincial airport, the other a high end self storage facility.  Adam will also introduce the new BICSI Standard for Intelligent buildings, which have been developed from the combined contributions of subject matter experts around the world.

Adam joined Tucker Associates in 1988 as Group Engineer and was appointed a Director of Tuckers Consultancy Ltd in 2005 with responsibility for environmental policy, computer aided design and engineering.

He has been involved in many diverse projects including highly specified conference facilities for a leading City bank, various hotel projects in Europe, redevelopment of old educational buildings into a low carbon school, private and social housing and numerous banking and legal fit-outs in the City and Canary Wharf.

Adam takes a particular interest in sustainability and environmental issues relating to building services on which his dissertation for his BEng qualification was based.
