Smart Buildings: How IoT and Big Data are Disrupting CRE
The exponential growth the Internet of Things, big data, and the mobile workforce are disrupting corporate business models and changing the way we think about the built environment. The technologies we are used to outside the building – such as mobile apps, personal comfort controls, room reservations, wayfinding, and location based services -- are now coming inside the building. For real estate owners and managers, new technologies and integrated systems provide the opportunity to operate and manage their real estate using real-time data and business intelligence. These “smart” buildings use advanced data and analytics to increase operational efficiency, reduce costs, optimize use of space, and improve the satisfaction and productivity of employees. This session will provide an overview of how buildings are being transformed by technology and how IoT is impacting the workplace of the future.
